Can you customize your menus?
In addition to our extensive variety of fine foods and menus, friendly and experienced staff we provide a full array of additional catering services. We will work with you to customize your menu and ensure your event reflects your own taste and personal touches. Our goal is to relieve you of the many details that go along with hosting a successful event so that you, as well as your guests, can thoroughly enjoy your special event.
How much deposit is required, and what is your cancellation policy?
A deposit of $150.00 is required the day of booking. A credit card must be furnished to secure the event. In the event of cancellation 15 days prior to the event, we will use the credit card on file to charge 50% of the event value due to cancellation.
Deposit refunds on cancellations are handled as follows:
- Notice over 60 days prior to event – full refund of deposit
- Notice 30 days prior to event – no refund of deposit
- Notice less than 15 days prior to event – no refund of deposit and 50% of the party value.
When do you need to know the guest count?
Food, beverage and add-on items charges based on guest count will be based on the Client’s final guarantee. Final guest counts are due no later than one week before the date of the event. If no final guest count is received, we will use the number of guests used in the attached proposal. If the guaranteed guest count falls below 75% of the proposal guest count, the price per guest may be increased. We will make every effort to accommodate any last minute increases in the guest count.
Is there a mininum number of people?
J. Baldwin’s requires a minimum of 20 guests to execute our catering menus and services.
What type of payment do you accept?
Payment will be accepted in the form of a check, credit card, or cash. Full payment of event is due the day of the event.
Are tax and gratuity included?
All events are subject to a 6% sales tax, and on-site events a 20% gratuity. If you event is off-site with servers, there is a fee for the servers and a 20% gratuity. (It is appropriate to give an additional gratuity to your servers if you are well pleased with your service.)
How long do you guarantee your pricing?
The prices quoted for functions which take place within 90 days after the date of execution of the Catering Contract are firm; any function taking place after 90 days could be subject to current market price.
If I hire your staff to come to my location, how many hours will they be there and how many people do I need?
Our proposal includes staffing for up to 4 hours beginning at the starting time through final cleanup of the event. Overtime is billed at the rate of $30.00 per hour. No overtime will be incurred if the event ends on schedule. We reserve the right to increase or decrease the number of staff if the guaranteed guest count is 10% higher or lower than the number included in this proposal. We require one server for every 40 guests and have the right to increase the amount of required staff due to more detailed executions of the catered event. (i.e.: station parties, passed Hors d’Oeuvres, plated meals).
Can I decorate your facility?
All decorating must be pre-approved by the Catering Manager. We are more than happy to assist you in decorating for your special event. If there is additional time needed prior to the event for decorating this must be prearranged with the catering Manager, and there may be an additional fee depending on the amount of time necessary to decorate. If there is damage or excessive clean-up due to decorations there may be an additional clean-up fee.
Is there a room rental fee?
If you hare having your catered event at our restaurant, the room rental fee is $150.
